International Maritime Risk Rating Agency November 2016 Newsletter

A new feature for IMRRA’s November newsletter is a quarterly summary table of Tanker Incidents.

During Aug-Oct 2016 IMRRA carried out Risk Assessment of more than 4,047 tanker vessels up to 20 years old. All through this quarterly period 74 vessels were found to be involved in all incidents types. As you can view from the table the majority of incidents (including collisions and allision), are with vessels aged 6-10 years.

IMRRA's Vessel Risk Trend Focus 38.4% Average Vessel Risk Rating

Based on 8,348 Assessments

In October 2016 IMRRA assessed and risk rated 1,414 Vessels. The average fleet risk rating was 38.7%.

215 vessels were rated above the fleet average, demonstrating a higher safety and reputational risk. IMRRA recommends further vessel and Operator investigations before commencing a commercial relationship.

·        215 vessels identified with a higher risk rating

·        1,199 vessels with a lower risk rating

·        20 Casualty Incidents

·        914 PSC deficiencies logged during August
