Commentary:
Many of IMO's most
important technical conventions contain provisions for ships to be inspected
when they visit foreign ports to ensure that they meet IMO requirements.
Port State Control (PSC) is
the inspection of foreign ships in national ports to verify that the condition
of the ship and its equipment comply with the requirements of international
regulations and that the ship is manned and operated in compliance with these
rules. (source - http://www.imo.org/)
PSC is very important
instrument in raising standards of Maritime Safety as well as it is an
important parameter in the risk assessment process.
IMRRA's Data Collection Summary:

IMRRA in March 2017, among them 107 vessels with 939 deficiencies were

Age of Vessel V Deadweight Trade Analysis
During March IMRRA
evaluated more than 1,632 tanker vessels, aged 0-20 years with differing DWTs during
March. We can observe vessels with DWT from 20,000 to 50,000 mt and aged 10-15 years were the most popular for trades.
Joint second and third scores were 50,000 to 150,000 mt,
aged 10-15, and 5-10 years.
